Landmark Cobblestone Home

The owners had been told many times to rip things off and build new, but this would only compromise the exquisite style and the authentic components that make this landmark home so special.  Introduced in a timely manner with an appreciation for the home; they said they had not met a restorer in New York City. I Carefully made my way restoring various floor areas, doors, walls, and windows.

The home itself resembles the landscape it sits upon and so do the design elements, which are all organic. Curved interior ceilings, curved staircase. There are no straight lines in its décor and appliques. The epitome of handcrafted artistry. To achieve such continuation the restoration process needed to be done with the same philosophy. Recurring to the old ways of craftsmanship, using the actual rustic tools and materials including finding the same wood, and metallic screens.  This house is a testament to American Arts and crafts in a time that defied the Industrial Revolution.
